Gauss - Gauss when informed that his wife was dying, told the messenger ask her to wait; I am doing some mathematics right now.

Einstein- He forgot where his quarters were in America and had to go to office to ask for the address of his residence. 

Euler - He was half blind most of his life

Abel - He died in poverty

Atkins - Atkins died because of Atkins diet

Lagrange- Stephen Hawking liked him immensely.  Though I am not sure.

Newton- Stephen Hawking had a distaste for Newton.  Though I am not sure.

God made integers - Stephen Hawking book is so great. And did a god made integers? You bet he did.

Nearly Missed

I did Measuring Behavior in 2010. It was an infinite series of products. Someone could have guided me towards Wallis pi. But no one.

Similarly I in recent past did Gauss constant. Someone could have pulled me and helped me in better expressions. But no one.

There are a few instances more. Where the callousness of the society has caused me dearly.

I believe education is of the society. And business is of family. Which trade you want to be in is a personal choice. 

One should not keep track of the misses one had in life. But keep moving ahead. For God help those who help themselves.

Which is better? Vedic mathematics or Trachtenberg

Better" in what sense? Both systems consist of various tricks for doing calculations somewhat faster than you would without them. In either case, practice is more important than the particular system you choose to work with.

And in either case, the proficiency they give you is quite irrelevant for anything to do with mathematics or pretty much anything. Doing mental arithmetic is fun for some, so practicing it is (for them) a neat pastime. Other than that, digging into either "system" is a waste of time.

(Some folks, hearing how John von Neumann or Richard Feynman were very quick mental calculators, start believing that learning mental arithmetic could make them better mathematicians, physicists, computer scientists or people. It doesn't. Both von Neumann and Feynman had a deep interest in mathematics from an early age, and they played with it as other kids play with toys. This helped them develop a facility with mental calculation among other things, but more importantly they were eager to learn actual mathematics and became very good at it. The causal relationship doesn't work in the other direction.)

Delhi is India

Delhi is the capital of India.  It's responsibilities are high. And Delhiites have been great in maintaining its responsibilities of being an Indian capital. The people of Delhi have always shown great enthusiasm and positiveness in attending to Indian problems. In diplomatic channels especially. 

People say Sikhs were massacred and looted after 1984.  But they have been hugged by Delhi people to such an extent that everything is forgotten.  It is bhool chookh maaf for any misgivings. 

In finances we shall work in the same way. The Servants of people will deliver goods.

On Ramanujan constants

Ramanujan is credited to two constants namely Ramanujan-Soldner constant and Landau-Ramanujan constant.

Both of these are related to the logarithmic functions.

One may open the books and will come to know that logarithmic functions eases calculations like no other. Vedic mathematics are just a crap which ruins career of kids. Trachtenberg system is different because Trachtenberg was spending his time in jail. And he came up with shortcuts to calculations.

Now, coming to the point. Ramanujan to have found constants in logarithmic functions is indeed a great genius. 

I seriously think that no one can think beyond Thomas Bayes and the Bayes conditional probability. Because a human just cannot think beyond his realm. Can he? But our spirituallly owned S R Srinivasa Varadhan, (spiritually owned because he got the Padma Vibushan in 2023) made a theory on probability which seems to me lies beyond distributions. S R Srinivasa Varadhan won the Abel Prize in 2017.

My growing years

 

I grew up in Delhi.  In our area there were many families who migrated from Pakistan during partition. We had extremely good relationships with some of them.

As a child I had good imagination and Arya Samaj and Lala Lajpat Rai were deeply influential.  I rate these two principles as very high in Indian culture.

I managed to clear Jamia entrance for engineering in 12th class. I could not clear the interview. I have a grudge and I believe I must state why I have a grudge too. Because I had visual experience of seeing #Pythashastri and I think I deserved good education.  It is difficult to explain.  Maybe some Islamic scholars will sympathize.

Anyways now I managed expressions with the kindness and magnamity of Wolfram Alpha.  I believe strongly that America gives opportunities. 

It has taken 35 plus years to travel from visual #Pythashastri to approximation abilities of humans theory of mine.

Maybe I get to learn now at this old age. And why not? In Veer Zaara Shah Rukh Khan (a Jamia Millia student) love materializes in old age !! 😀
