I claim that n factorial by combination (n,1) is gamma function. And that is why tau(n) is (n-1) factorial.
You may try the above and check the validation for sin(x) , x, (x-1)/x that I posted recently.
I find that my explanation is consistent and with the above claim.

Also, combination (n,1) into a by n, is how we see the number a.
It is supported .
Because n into a by combination (n,a) supports theta functions statement of Ramanujan, I feel.
