Production houses have to line up so many things. Stars and motivation. Scheduling. Budget. Quarrels handling. And more.
Directors have to get the whole idea materialised.
I feel the role of art director is toughest.
Then the role of screenplay writer.
I have not seen a single movie made by Anurag Kashyap. I think he must be really good. Especially Ugly. It is a thriller movie. And I want to see this movie.

If we talk of film-makers, Satyajit Ray was great. Unparalleled hold, great camera angles, apt imagination. I mean simply great.
Adoor Gopalakrishnan was equally good. His pace and story-telling were nature blessed. And nature inspired.
Shyam Benegal had tremendous stamina. And great quality. His serial on Discovery of India was so well executed. Amazing.
Shankar Nag too did well in Malgudi days, the TV serial. Lived up to the style and flavour of RKNarayan, RKLaxman.
About music
Salil Chowdhury music in the TV serial Darpan was a classic.
Background score of Kahaani was great. Vishal-Sekhar. Johann Sebastian Bach inspired.
Hum Kisi se kam nahin. Outstanding songs. RDBurman. Nazir Hussain. Uncle of Aamir Khan.
Priyadarshan is a great film maker. I wish to see all of his movies.
While in Coimbatore, I watched a lot of movies. Tamil movies. I liked the village story type of movies a lot. Ilayaraja scores were superb. This is where I lost the RDBurman, Kalyanji-Anandji liking. And started admiring Ilayaraja.
Bharathiraja was great.
