Power of your company

According to Parkinson's law "Work expands to fill the time available for it."

This means if time available increases, work increases. In other words work/time is constant. This is nothing but power.

You can determine the power of your company from this formula. If time available is more and work is less and your organisation demands unnecessary work then it means that the power of your organisation is less.

Four quadrant theory
For a positive stand you take, there are three people against you. One of them is dead against you. And two of them are medium against you. Your success depends not only on being firm in your stand but also in the success of your efforts in wooing the other two.

Four quadrant theory - strategies
You are quadrant 1.
You can say to quadrant 2 "You like comedy films. I also like comedy films. Let us be friends."
You may also say to quadrant 2 "Quadrant 3 likes sad films only. So become his enemy."
By talking in this manner you can gain support of quadrant 2.

Focus on results but do not have desires
Obviously therefore to have no desires your action should not be a function of either time or money.

Kirtivasan Ganesan said...

Time is an infinite series.
Money which compares two dissimilar things is also infinite.

But action is product of two things. Reachable.

So you can use this yardstick to know what is result and what is an infinite thing(desire).

Improving Determination (Idea copied from Adam Khan from Internet)

Determination is a very important quality needed by persons who want to achieve something in life.

Determination can be improved by thinking in the right way. In an experiment, athletes who were able to explain their shortcomings to their coaches much better were able to do better in the next round. And athletes who were unable to explain their shortcomings to their coaches correctly did bad in their next round. Doing better in the next round is determination. Therefore the experiment proves that right thinking about your short comings and right explanation improves next performance. In other words improves determination.

In today's world people become moody. How to beat it?

Emotional Intelligence is the answer.

Practical Steps for improving emotional intelligence.

Gradient emotions technique.
Make a gradient for all emotions.
Eg.1. Happy, happier, happiest.
Writing software - happy.
Listening to music - happier.
Having beer - happiest.
Similarly make a gradient list for other emotions too.
Make this list private. Do not show to others.
When feeling moody choose an action of a suitable emotion. Of required level.

It is good to see people cooperating and ensuring that Jan Lok Pal bill is getting support.

I would like to state here two tenets/pillars for our society. I believe these two tenets are important.

1) Rich should not get poor. But poor can become rich.
2) All men may be equal before God. But in front of science and especially enjoying luxuries of science, all men are not equal.

I welcome comments.

People confuse you with financial accounting details about corruption. What about cost accounting?
In finance there are two accounting. Financial accounting and cost accounting. Both the accounting needs to be done to get the correct picture.
Looking at only expenditure side as done by CAG in CWG serves no purpose. What about revenues earned in CWG?

Our PM reformed the nation in 1991 as a finance minister. And then India did not look back. It kept surging ahead. Our progress has been phenomenal. It is to the credit of Dr. Manmohan Singh that our nation has been stable for the last seven/eight years.
It is not that he may not have made mistakes. To err is human.
To include PM in Lokpal will be a big mistake and shall cause confusion. In any case PM is always under Z category security and always in public eye. To term him capable of corruption is highly preposterous.

Delhi Police first arrests Anna Hazare from Mayur Vihar which did not have Section 144. Corruption.
Anna Hazare put in jail. Corruption.
Anna Hazare refuses to go out though police releases him. Corruption.
There is so much of corruption in two days.

Human work
Humans work when he/she has a competitive advantage over others. The competitive advantage gives the person a kick and satisfaction and he continues to work. Eg. A person who is good in making slogans will feel good in working in an ad agency because he has a competitive advantage.
Every person has something unique in him and the person has to discover as to what it is. Then he has to do autosuggestion and keep repeating that this unique quality is his competitive advantage. He has to feel convinced about his quality being good. Only then will he work better.
This will help the person to work harder.

Dignity should be maintained by a king and aristocrats. Not by elected public servants. PMO is possibly the most important office, but the PM is for the people first.
Dignified behaviour by PM in parliament is totally out of place.
He should have gone to Anna Hazare himself and resolved the issue.

India's population is very high. It is expected that people stand in a queue for submitting applications, making deposits and other such things.
Sometimes an over smart guy breaks the queue and goes forward to get his thing done.
If in a queue of a1,a2,a3,a4,a5 ...a100 , a54 acts smart and tries to break the queue, then a law should be there to punish not only a54 but also a55(the person right behind). Because it is a social responsibility to maintain queue. a54 is of course guilty but a55 is also somewhat guilty.

Businessmen from most parts of India do a lot of research, understand their competence and then put their money. Be it Marwari, Tamil, Punjabi businessmen.
Businessmen who put their money recklessly do not have actual power. They are driven by impulses and resort to cheating.

There are two types of poor people in India. Urban and rural. Urban poor mainly vent their anger on the Indian society by becoming criminals and cheats. Some of them get into flesh trade and become smugglers, rioters. Rural poor do not become cheats but mainly commit suicide as they see no option before them.
Government has made plans to give guaranteed employment to rural poor and thereby giving them a source of income. Also micro finance is there which can alleviate poverty mainly in rural areas.
But urban poor stay in city and cause damages and do not go back to their home towns. Rehabilitation of urban poor is tough.
The government must make plans for urban poor also and make their lives meaningful. It is mainly that urban poor has very little scope of improvement if they stay in cities while the scope of improvement for rural poor is there.
