Pebble smartwatch paired

Pebble is closed. I managed to get watchface earlier with difficulty when I accidentally reset my earlier Samsung J2 phone.

I got for myself Samsung A31. Finally after two days I got my old Pebble smartwatch to pair with modern Samsung A31.

A good tweak this one

I listen to songs based on habit. I don't easily like latest songs. However I do like the playlists of Google play music and others. I like their categorisation of latest pop, latest bollywood songs etc.
However, many times I am moody. At a particular moment I just have to listen to a song by Ravindra Jain for instance.
The solution that worked for me for the last few years was storing songs in mobile. And listening to playlists offered by Google play music.
Recently a brainwave occurred. I put all my songs (about 1000) in Google drive. But opening the songs and playing the songs over bluetooth did not happen when I opened google drive in browser.
So what I did was install Google Drive app. Bluetooth playing of songs now happen!!
So Google Drive and Google Play Music apps are my way now to listen to music.
I have Philips bluetooth speaker.

Indo-Pak War

The situation around LOC is grim.
There were attacks from Pakistan in Uri and many of our soldiers lost their lives.
India retaliated and caused considerable damage to the Pakistani forces on the other side of the LOC.
India has a policy of no first attack.
Getting provoked and responding to the provocation is being defensive. Not responding is loosing time. Responding with an attack would be serious.

A write-up on Java technologies

Java is the accepted technology in coal belts and iron belts zones of India. Java, in my opinion is a rival to Microsoft technologies. The above two statements need corroboration from Bangalore IT guys.
What can Java achieve? They can make every PC, desktop a browser. Java technology can also make every server a sort of cloud server. These are logical deduction. Bangalore IT guys.
So, have the people of coal belts and iron belts accepted in some way mobile technology? IT question. Bangalore IT guys.
Do these technologies make our children dumb? Do these technologies reduce the intelligence of our children? Do these technologies reduce the creativity of our children? No, not at all. These technologies possibly direct intelligence in a browser fashion. Attractive pages. See comparison. Bargain. Click to choose. Other answer. Bangalore IT guys!!

IT Security

What is IT Security?
Virus? Only viruses ?
No. Startup Items, cookies, wrong registry entries all fall under IT Security.
When we talk of viruses, we talk about floppies and internet. The general perception is they slow down the system and slows down every other system because they spread. But then what about Trojans? Trojans just wait to know what you are typing. The moment it knows you are typing your bank password, your bank balance becomes zero. The typing and password typing is difficult for any Trojan to distinguish. It might be easy if your user name for a site is your name itself.
If you want my opinion on IT Security policy, the first principle I suggest is acceptance of the fact that everyone spreads viruses. Including you.
The second principle is 360 Total Security. Use this software.
The third principle is buy a non Windows firewall. And disable Windows Firewall. I am not against Windows Firewall, but it is only important if you are the administrator. And why did I say disable Windows Firewall? It is because two firewalls will slow down the system.
So, use 360 total Security software. And if you can afford it, buy GlassWire Firewall suggested by 360 Total Security.

A Growing Child

When a child is born, most of his needs are fulfilled by parents. An example of abstract classes. The object(ive) of child is materialized. ASP.NET object. The child is gradually exposed to methods after his exposure to the world. Textbox methods, gridview methods after the exposed ASP.NET methods.
The child develops intelligence from internet, HTML and web. ASP.NET object.
However, .NET object keeps a count of internet usage and times ASP.NET. ASP.NET for finance, ASP.NET for news, ASP.NET for medical science etc. .NET object counting is Generics. An OOPS concept.
The child uses daddy's laptop, password for ASP.NET internet. This is inheritance. An OOPS concept.
Gradually, the child grows up and realizes he needs to get his work done. He uses his hand and gets money. Maybe from daddy. The hand is the interface. An OOPS concept.
The child gives the money to his servant using hand and gets biscuits. The servant is the delegate. An OOPS concept.
The child gives the money to his friend for ice-creams. Vanilla ice cream and Strawberry ice cream. The hand is encapsulated for these two purposes. An OOPS concept.
The child may be mischievous and disobey all these rules of daddy. He overrides daddy's instruction. An OOPS concept.
Meanwhile, the daddy gets older. He begins to introspect. What is he about? He is an object from an abstract class. But is that enough? Has he not been constructed? Is not there a destruction? Does he not have methods? Does he not have exceptions? Does he not collect garbage? His own. Does he not believe in start to finish?
Improvement. I get 7 out of 12 marks.

Need for a desktop computer

Pi is a brilliant constant.
I was able to deduce it to be approximately be equal to 22/7.
I had Euler's formula and using Taylor series can deduce its value to about 350 places.
Now, how to go beyond this?
I have a hunch that √2 and √3 which are both transcendental can help me to determine value of Pi to higher levels of accuracy.
I need a desktop and software for this. Also proper channels for effective communication.

My five favorite internet/mobile ideas

Internet/ Mobile has brought out great ideas. I am listing here five of my favorite ideas from this area:-
1) Siri. We have been waiting for an artificial intelligence system for a long long time. Since 1990s at least. Then Apple brought out an artificial intelligent system Siri in their mobile.
2) Crossword Maestro software. This software is brilliant for solving crosswords and even learning how to solve one. This software has used artificial intelligence very well, it seemed.
3) Microsoft Web Pages. Microsoft web pages are very well designed. One can learn a lot on where to place menu, what should be the border, how much etc.
4) Google Search String. Google has worked a lot on as you type string help.
5) Username/Password storage. Unsecured sites take a lot of help from this storage and a user needs to type less.
What are yours?

Bangalore IT guys ?

  1. While JSON is for data between two closer systems, XML is for data between any two systems.
  2. Blog comments can be used as a feed for news in a blog.
  3. Labeling of blog comments by blog authors should be made available. This will give an additional dimension to point number 2. (We do have approval of comments by blog authors. So why not labeling?)
  4. If we get horizontal (recursive) XML license, then vertical XML should not be a problem.
  5. In the development of software thinking techniques of for loops thinking and start to finish thinking; in start to finish thinking all the data or all the objects needed should be thought out first. Are we in sync here? Kindly refer to Start to finish software thinking and For Loops thinking.
  6. Another software thinking needed would be "to contract or to expand" logic ability or "exit" thinking or exception thinking.
  7. Microsoft technology is Blend with xaml,.NET, Web services layers. Is it not?
Merry X-Mas to you guys.

Gadgets Galore

Earlier, I had a Windows XP machine of HCL brand. In those days, there were only simple cellphones. It was 1G or 2G at the most and SMS and calls were possible and WAP standard browsing. Motorola had a browser called Dolphin to serve WAP pages. I had a Motorola cellphone and an HCL PC.
Things started moving fast. 3G services came up and with it Smartphones. These phones were able to work with HTTP and most of them had built Apps. As HTTP had facebook support, these Smartphones were able to build Facebook App. Thus entered the social structure in mobile. A static social man became a mobile social man. I had a Samsung Monte in those days. All the Apps were inbuilt in it and a few more at the most could be downloaded from the Samsung social site.
Later the Google social site came up. Google being most popular, its social reach was phenomenal. Facebook had social restrictions but Google had no such well understood restrictions. The Smartphones became smarter and smart enough to get an Artificial Intelligent system. I had Windows phones Nokia Lumia 720 and 1520 during these times. I had concern for security and decided emphatically to have the best possible security. And that of Windows.
Even today, the Lumia 1520 is my favorite gadget. It seems easy for me. Though for gaming and teaching kids I have a Google tab and a Samsung tab.; I do not use these as seamlessly as a Nokia.
These are the gadgets I have. And a Dell PC. Then there is a Kindle reader and a new Acer Windows 10 tablet. About the connections, I presently have only one. Airtel 4G. Then, home WiFi.
And there is a remote keyboard and other blue tooth gadgets like Bose headphones. And other USB devices.
A secured gadgets galore. Driven by passion. A responsible corporate citizen trying to do the best in these trying times.

Software Standards and Software Technology

What is the difference between OpenXML and Interop?
OpenXML is a software standard. While Interop is a software technology. But both of them can work with Word and make programming a Word document.
I have seen many organizations comfortable with software technology. Like packages of Oracle etc. They are not comfortable with software standards like OOPS built on industry accepted technologies.
A language is a language. There is nothing beyond it. A package is a hidden pack of lies and substandard intelligence which is best kept hidden. Many times you do not realize why a package does not work and you may have to look at a manual kept in a library. Many times the librarian keeps the book hidden to give it to his favorite customer. Your dream of completing the software program gets broken, then.

Visual Studio for Desktop

Visual Studio for desktop is a fine tool for developing applications in a desktop. Today, the software world works very differently than in the recent past. But Microsoft has given the option of downloading Visual Studio for desktop and use it for as long as one wishes to build applications for your desktop.
I have built applications on desktop using Visual Studio for Desktop. I have used text file as a data source in one of these two applications.
Though .NET framework or xaml (pronounced zammel) is not used in these, but still it can create all the necessary applications that one envisages in an office. Database connection option is there and I think ADO may not work. ODBC will surely work. And probably OLEDB too.

Apps deployed, developed in Visual Studio 2013

I have developed apps for Windows phone and Workstation in Visual Studio 2013 as a Hub App.
The Apps currently has default texts in it. I propose to change the text suitably at a later date. I am satisfied with this solution as this is what is my only need expected of an App. However, I have developed Windows Desktop Apps earlier and posted it as a tile in Workstation. But this app is a metro style app which is an altogether different subject.
The template designed apps were for the feeds from my blogs. These were developed in App Studio of Microsoft which was accessed online.

The tile with a cross is the Hub App developed in Visual Studio 2013 and transferred to the phone automatically by connecting it through USB. The other apps on its left and right are the Apps developed in App Studio. One has Blogs feeds. Another has Comments in blogs feeds.

Photos relevant now are:-

App Ideas

This is an idea for an app on mobiles.
One cannot escape thinking. If we concentrate hard then we will realize that our thoughts are also repetitive. Normally at the seconds level we have fear, love, hate, distaste etc. At minute level we have our animal instincts of hunger, addictions etc. When it comes to an hour, our personality comes into play. What we are about? And so on ....
I am sure we shall not be the same always and we shall be changing. The list above if looked 6 months from now will be different than what it is now.
I have also provided a level indicators below. How many marks I give out of 5 for the entity under consideration.
This app may require a database for proper working. To store results once in a month. Also it needs a touch based programming to implement the level indicators. I am not familiar with touch programming. The mobile app and phone app I developed required only insertion of feeds. No more.
To do this program in Windows technology will need Silverlight and latest Visual Studio. Also Azure services may have to be subscribed for storing information.
But I am confident that this app if developed will sell well and I can make money. What do you think?

Blogs, Apps and Devices

I have perfected my apps to show cartoons and also links to videos.
I had to get cartoons from my cartooning blog site as a feed. The way I did for my other sites. For my videos, I did something else. I opened an account in flickr.com. I uploaded my dafli videos. Then these two were also subscribed as feeds.
Also I managed to make my cartoon as a live tile photo in Nokia 1520.

My personal laptop also has this app. I am inserting the screenshot of my laptop.

I have developed apps in my android mobile too. Here are the screenshots.

Latest in IT World

So, these are the interesting happenings in IT and mobile arena.
1) Lima is a terabyte level personal cloud like device. You store media and files in Lima. All your other devices like tablets phone and laptops can then use these files. (By the way I have probably only 1000 songs. But I wrote higher number in my other blog because I had other devices with copies !!)
2) Microsoft's to be installed Windows phone app now has an extension .xapp. But I think you can make it available in Windows Phone Store. However, there is a payment. But the earlier .xap Windows Phone App is also supported. I have checked this out.
3) Windows 10 will make file sharing more synchronous across its devices. So possibly, a Windows phone altered file can be immediately accessed on the Windows laptop.

Is Master-Detail Data Structure with back Procedures Enough?

Yes, it is enough to store numbers and data.
The reason is the mathematical constant e, which is the accepted method of dealing with numbers. e also has a logic to it and follows the binary tree structure(similar to master-detail). There need not be one e, the start-up. But many.  Another e starting up later is a practical reality. This gives me the confidence to say that "Master-Detail Data Structure with back Procedures is enough" for dealing with numbers and data.
But does it explain the real world scenario. It does not. OOPS (Object Oriented Programming System) is better here. OOPS has been accepted as the best paradigm for software development. And therefore a OOPS system with Master-Detail screens and back procedures is ideal.
What I am recommending here is the package "Visual Studio Lightswitch" for company packages. It is OOPS. It has master-detail. You may have database triggers for procedures.
It is essential to have standardised packages for development of software. And I am taking the risk in educating people about its usefulness.
I wish every system follow this system and take software development to great heights.

Latest Hardware Additions

I bought Soleus health band. It has features like time, date, step monitor, calorie monitor, sleep monitor, exercise monitor and phone call details syncing.

I thought it will go well with Google Nexus tab. Windows phone do not support Soleus. But Google Nexus tab does not work with Soleus Go app. And this app is needed for my Soleus Go Activity Tracker. Also Samsung 10.1 did not work for Soleus Go app.

So what did I do? Got for myself a Moto-X. That is what you see in the picture above. I was a customer of Motorola earlier during 1G stages or 2G stages. So Motorola was an obvious choice. And Moto-X because of useful Google Now integration.

The Soleus app and the Soleus Go Activity Tracker finally managed to be synced. (Without app, activity trackers are not useful. It is difficult to read from the small panel and requires many button pushes.) . So how is it? Great !! The steps are beautifully graphed and detailed. The exercise section too. The weight session is marked with jerky bars in chart. The sleep section is also mapped. Did you know that sleep is of two levels. Deep sleep and low sleep. They alternate. There is another kind of sleep just before your waking up. If paired, then the health band will also tell you if a phone arrives.
Paired means phone Bluetooth on.

I really like this device. It can act as a watch. Go ahead and buy to lead a healthy life.

Yet More Digital . . .

Heartbleed is causing problems.
Password Management software stores user name and password for sites. For Hotmail, Hotmail user name and password. For GMail, GMail user name and password. The Password Management software do not mix these up. Also there is confidentiality.
One place the Password Management software do not work is the secured sites. Banking for instance. Here the user has to fill in the username and password manually. These sites work on SSL. Here, the data fed in are encrypted and decrypted at server. Similarly the data from server are encrypted and decrypted at browser level.
Programs had to be developed for utilising SSL features. So, OpenSSL standards were made.
Heartbleed exploited OpenSSL and the data was exposed.
Why did it happen? Encryption, Security are ever changing paradigms. The users of internet are expected to update their systems. Latest browsers are expected to be used. But an average user normally disallows automatic updates by software vendors and this results in malwares like Heartbleed. Because even though the server may be having latest security, the client browser may not. Therefore, only old security would work here. The Heartbleed fully understands this and manages to break the encryption and takes out the heart of information from the junk encrypted value. It enjoys the data fully and data is totally at the mercy of Heartbleed.
Windows 8.1 will be available shortly for phones. For laptops it was already there. Windows 8.1 in phones will mean Cortana assistant; more lockscreen messages from Windows app, say lockscreen reminder messages from reminder windows phone app; more user friendly features like better volume etc. Also tiles backround can be from an image.

How far, Commander?

The touch mobile is the commander here.
Some of the upcoming trends in mobile are being briefed here. Just wrapping up things.
Bing becoming more effective. Your device gets more publicity. Over workgroups, intranet, internet.
Nokia launches Android touch mobile. Maybe with Live Tile. So Android fans, get ready for "Everything at once."
Location based social apps launched. If you carry your mobile to Jaipur, then this social app will display your society's Jaipur experience. 360 is one such app. Navicomputer may be another.
Windows are working on speech help. Stuck up with Copy screen and paste. No problems. Speech help comes handy.
Lync is voice communication in Office 365. Apart from possible other functions.
Password management apps. Trust me here. Be careful with these apps. No point in having an assistant for password management. A carefully kept diary is the best solution. I have a diary with  username and password for about 50 sites. Never trust these password apps, I tell you. Be safe.
