If one reads history of mathematicians, we come to know how social environment play a vital role.
Euler had a tutor from Bernoulli family. This guy recognized Euler aptitude for mathematics and promoted Euler for further education. Needless to say Euler was able to prove the Basel equation. Thinking of providing proofs, I think one needs to have foundation in Mathematical analysis. Gamma and Beta functions are vital. Bessel also. And some more such stuff. Without proofs a mathematician is like a man who has an opinion without data.
Gauss was considered brilliant in school and his result in arithmetic progression was outstanding. He was naturally chosen for further mathematics in University.
Abel was also like Gauss. Chosen. Then University.
Abel died young. At 26. Euler developed eye problems. Gauss had a peaceful death in his bed.
Prime numbers are important. Most can do and should try. Amazing is it not? Prime numbers. If you like my statements above you can further learn mathematics. If you don't then accept that Shakuntala Devi did us proud.
It's all Greek concepts. Mine included. Hats off to Greece!!
