Suppose there are two numbers A and B. Golden Ratio is the spirit that says if B is larger than A by x; then A is smaller than (A+B) by x too. Consecutive numbers also is a spirit that says B is A plus 1.
To a hardcore mathematician they are just numbers.
Is it not interesting that consecutive numbers fetches so many interesting results?
They explain three consecutive numbers. They explain four consecutive numbers. They give expressions in constants. They give binomials. They work like hand in gloves with hypergeometric functions. They work with AP, GP, factorials too.
Being an Indian it did not fetch me anything. Not even a promotion since 2008, when I started.

Foreigners do not give a damn to Indian thoughts of infinity. Growth of numbers. By slowly adding 1. Boondh boondh se banta hai sagaar we say.
Aaj wahi boondhon ne hume itne saare cheez diye hain. Consecutive numbers have given us many things.
